Terms & conditions
The agreement between you and Cedar Outdoors when you place an order: what you are buying, how delivery works, your rights if you change your mind or something is wrong, and the law it runs under.

About these terms
These terms apply to every order placed on this website. Your contract is with Cedar Works LTD trading as Cedar Outdoors (“we”, “us”). Company details are at the end of this page.
Please read them before you order. Placing an order means you accept them. If you are buying as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights — where these terms and the law disagree, the law wins.
Who can order
You must be 18 or over and have a delivery address in mainland UK. Some products — knives, axes and spray paints among them — are not sold to anyone under 18, and we operate a Challenge 25 policy for them. We may cancel an order where we have reason to believe you are under 18.
If you buy for a business, the consumer rights described in these terms — cancelling within 14 days and the Consumer Rights Act remedies — do not apply in the same way. “Our liability” below sets out how our liability differs for business customers.
Your order and our contract
When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. We will email you to confirm we have received it, but the contract is only formed when we accept your order — which we do by confirming acceptance or dispatch.
We may decline an order, for example where:
- the item is out of stock or no longer available;
- the price or description was clearly wrong (see below);
- we cannot deliver to your address;
- we reasonably suspect the order is fraudulent or breaks these terms.
If we decline an order you have paid for, we refund you in full.
Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT at the current rate. Delivery charges are shown in your basket and at checkout before you pay. Where a delivery has to be quoted separately, we confirm the charge with you before we accept your order, and you can cancel without charge if you do not want to go ahead.
If the VAT rate changes between your order and delivery, we will adjust the VAT you pay unless you have already paid in full before the change takes effect.
We take care to get prices right. If we find an obvious error — a price that is clearly not what we meant to charge — we will contact you before accepting your order and will only go ahead if you confirm at the correct price.
You can pay with the methods shown at checkout. Card details are entered into our payment provider’s secure form; we never see or store your full card number. Promotion codes are subject to the conditions stated with them and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Delivery
We deliver to mainland UK addresses only — not to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight, the Isles of Scilly or the Scottish islands. Each product page shows the delivery method, its charge and any typical lead time; lead times are estimates, not guaranteed dates. Our delivery information explains how large and heavy items are delivered and what access they need.
If we do not deliver within 30 days of the contract being formed (or by a date we have agreed with you), you can treat the contract as ended if delivery on time was essential. Otherwise you can give us a further reasonable period, and cancel if we miss that. Either way you are refunded in full for anything not delivered.
Risk and ownership
Goods are your responsibility from the moment they are delivered to you or to someone you have asked us to deliver to. They become yours once we have received payment in full.
Changing your mind
As a consumer you can cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of the day after you receive it (or, for an order that arrives in parts, the day after the last part arrives). You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back.
We refund the price and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of you showing us you have sent them, whichever is sooner. Unless an item is faulty or not as described, you pay the cost of returning it. We may reduce a refund where goods have been handled more than was needed to examine them — for example a machine that has been fuelled or used.
This right does not apply to goods made to your specification or clearly personalised. How to cancel, and a form you can use, are on our returns and cancellations page.
Faulty or incorrect goods
Everything we sell must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it is not, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you these rights:
- Up to 30 days after delivery: reject the goods for a full refund.
- Up to six months: a repair or replacement. If that is not possible, or does not work, a refund — full, or reduced to reflect use after the first 30 days. A fault that appears in this period is presumed to have been there at delivery.
- Up to six years (five in Scotland): you can still claim, though you may need to show the fault was present when the goods were delivered.
Contact us with your order number and a description or photographs of the problem. We pay the cost of returning or collecting faulty or incorrect goods.
Manufacturer warranties
Many products, particularly machinery, carry a warranty from their manufacturer. Where a product page mentions a warranty, it is the manufacturer’s promise, given on the manufacturer’s terms, and it is in addition to your rights against us — never instead of them. Some manufacturers require you to register the product or have it serviced to keep the warranty. See warranties.
Using machinery and products safely
Read the manufacturer’s instructions and safety information before assembling, fuelling, charging or using any product, and use the protective equipment they recommend. We are not responsible for damage caused by using a product against those instructions, by accident or misuse, by ordinary wear and tear, or by repairs or modifications not made by the manufacturer or an authorised agent. This does not affect your rights if the product itself is faulty.
Our liability
If we break these terms or are negligent, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when the contract was made.
We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for breach of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
Our products are sold for domestic and private use. If you buy for a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or indirect loss, and our total liability for an order is limited to the price paid for it.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, carrier disruption or supplier failure. If one affects your order we will tell you as soon as we can. If the delay is substantial, you can cancel and be refunded for anything you have paid for and not received.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself and your details up to date. We may suspend an account that is used to break these terms. You can close your account at any time from your account preferences, or by emailing [email protected].
Product information
We describe products as accurately as we can, using information from their manufacturers. Images are for illustration and colours vary between screens — check the dimensions and specification on the product page before you order. Content on this website belongs to us or to the manufacturers and suppliers who license it to us.
Privacy
How we use your personal information is explained in our privacy notice.
How we contact each other
We contact you using the email address and phone number you give us, and an email from us counts as “in writing”. You can contact us at [email protected].
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to it.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If something has gone wrong, please contact us first — our complaints policy explains how we handle a complaint and how long it takes.
